How quickly do you respond to inquiries?
We typically respond within 24 hours on business days. For faster help, chat with Merica, our AI assistant, using the chat widget on the site.
Merica says I don't sleep. Well, I do, but I still answer chats.
Do you have minimum order quantities?
No minimums. Order one shirt or a thousand — custom DTF and embroidery orders are welcome at any quantity.
Merica says One shirt or a thousand, we'll happily print either.
What is your turnaround time?
Our standard quoted turnaround is about 2 weeks. We aim to finish as fast as possible and often turn work around in just a few days, but 2 weeks is the norm we quote so we can guarantee it. Large orders are discussed and quoted per order.
Merica says We move quick when we can, but 2 weeks is the number we'll actually promise you.
Do you do rush orders?
Rush orders are priced per job — there's no fixed rush fee or percentage. Reach out with what you need and by when, and we'll tell you if we can fit it and what it costs.
Merica says Talk to us before you panic-order. We can usually work something out.
Is there a fee for small orders?
Small orders of 6 units or fewer carry a $2 per unit small-order fee to cover setup costs, and pricing on very small orders may need to be discussed per order.
Can I use my own blanks (garments I already own)?
Yes, we can print or embroider on customer-supplied apparel. Pricing and damage policies work a little differently for customer-supplied garments, so reach out through the contact form and we'll walk you through it.
Merica says Bring your own shirts if you want — just know the rules are a bit different.
How does the custom order process work?
Choose DTF or embroidery, select your garments, upload your design, choose placement, then review and check out. We handle the rest.
What is DTF printing?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) is a printing method that produces vibrant, full-color prints on any fabric color. It's durable, soft to the touch, and great for detailed designs.
What's the difference between DTF and embroidery?
DTF printing is best for full-color photos and complex, detailed designs and works on any fabric color. Embroidery is stitched into the fabric and is best for logos and text, offering a premium raised texture that lasts. DTF is generally cheaper and faster for most jobs; embroidery has that premium look for the right project.
Merica says DTF for the flashy stuff, embroidery when you want it to feel expensive.
Do I need to provide print-ready files?
For DTF, a PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI or higher works best; vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) also work. For embroidery, you can provide an existing DST/EMB file, or we can prepare your artwork for you for an artwork fee — case by case, usually around $15 to $20.
What file format do I need for DTF printing?
PNG with a transparent background, 300 DPI minimum, is preferred. We can't use JPEGs, since they always have a solid background. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) work too.
Merica says No JPEGs. They've got a background whether you want one or not.
Do you do embroidery on hats?
Yes. We do left-chest logos, hats, and other small designs. Embroidery pricing needs a quote, since thread count, number of colors, and design complexity all affect the cost — reach out with your design and we can quote it.
What's poly-bagging?
Poly-bagging means each garment is individually bagged. It's a good add-on for retail sale or handing out gear at events. Mention it when you submit your estimate and we'll include it.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes, we ship to all 50 US states. We do not currently ship internationally. Local pickup is also available at our Collegeville, PA location by appointment.
Merica says US only for now. If you're overseas, hit up the contact form and we'll see what we can do.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated live at checkout from your ZIP code, and you see the exact price before you pay. Blanks ship straight from the distributor. Your cart puts each distributor's items on their own packing slip, and each slip shows how close it is to free shipping.
Where are you located, and can I pick up my order?
We're based in Collegeville, PA. Local pickup is by appointment only — call 267-768-4189 or email sales@boneyardtees.com to set it up.
How do I track my order?
For a blanks order, open /shop/blanks/order/lookup and enter your order number and the email you checked out with. For merch and custom orders, your shipping email has the tracking number, or ask Merica.
Can I return a custom order?
Custom orders can't be returned simply because you changed your mind, since they're made specifically for you. If we made an error or the item is defective, that's on us and we'll fix it — contact us and we'll sort it out.
Merica says Custom stuff is made just for you, so it can't come back over a change of heart. Our mistake or a defect? We fix it.
Can I return blanks or merch?
Blanks: start a return from your order page (look it up at /shop/blanks/order/lookup) by the return-by date shown for each package. Items must be unworn, unwashed and undecorated, and damage needs to be reported within 48 hours of delivery. You're refunded the item price less the original shipping and the card processing fee. Merch: unused and unaltered items can be returned — contact us and we'll sort it out. Custom-printed or embroidered items can't be returned for a change of mind.
What payment methods do you take?
We accept card, cash, check, and Venmo. Card payments carry a 2.99% + $0.31 processing fee — exactly what our card processor charges us, passed through at cost. Venmo at pickup carries a 1.9% + $0.10 fee. Cash or check at pickup has no extra fee. Make checks payable to BoneYard Tees. Cash, check, and Venmo are for local pickup orders only.
Merica says Card's 2.99% plus 31 cents — that's the processor's cut, passed straight through. Venmo at pickup is 1.9% plus a dime. Cash or check costs you nothing extra.
Do you charge sales tax?
We charge 6% Pennsylvania sales tax on orders picked up in PA or shipped to a PA address. Orders shipped to another state are not charged PA sales tax.
Do you have promo codes I can use?
If you have a promo code, enter it at checkout and we'll check whether it's valid. We don't publicly hand out codes — keep an eye on /news and our email list for offers.
Do bigger sizes cost more?
Usually, yes — sizes 2XL and up typically carry an upcharge, and it works differently depending on what you are buying. On pre-designed merch the upcharge is a flat amount on top of the listed price: $2 for 2XL, $3 for 3XL, $4 for 4XL, $5 for 5XL and $6 for 6XL, with no upcharge from XS through XL. On custom quotes and blanks the upcharge is set by the garment itself, so it varies by brand, style and color rather than being a flat rate — whatever it comes to is itemized on your quote before you accept anything.
Merica says Big sizes, bit more fabric, bit more cost. It'll be right there on the quote.
What fees should I expect on a custom order?
Your quote itemizes everything before you accept it. Depending on the job that can include decoration or labor for DTF or embroidery, a size upcharge on 2XL and up (which varies with the garment on a custom quote), an artwork fee if we prepare your file, a small-order fee of $2 per unit on orders of 6 units or fewer, shipping, 6% Pennsylvania sales tax on orders picked up in PA or shipped to a PA address, and a payment processing fee (2.99% + $0.31 on card — our processor's cost, passed through — 1.9% + $0.10 for Venmo at pickup, nothing for cash or check at pickup). These are general figures — every job is a little different and some come in above or below. Nothing is added after you accept.
Merica says No surprise line items. It's all on the quote before you sign off.
How do I get a quote for a custom order?
Start at /shop/custom — choose DTF or embroidery, pick your garments, upload your design and submit an estimate request. We review it and email you a formal quote with final pricing, which you accept in your own quote portal before anything goes into production. You can also chat with Merica and he will get it started for you.
Merica says Tell me what you want and I will get the humans on it.
What blank brands do you carry?
We have 100+ brands live on the site, including Next Level, Gildan, Tultex, BELLA+CANVAS, Bayside, Independent Trading Co., Atlantis Headwear and YP Classics. Everything is sourced from S&S Activewear. If you want a brand or style you do not see on the site, reach out through the contact form or ask Merica and we will look it up for you.
Can you match Pantone colors?
We can get very close, but we cannot guarantee an exact match. DTF printing is CMYK, so Pantone colors are approximated rather than reproduced exactly. For embroidery we use standard thread colors, which closely match most Pantone shades. If an exact color is critical for your brand, tell us up front and we will let you know what to expect.
Do you offer design services?
We can make minor adjustments to artwork you already have, and we can prepare your file for embroidery for an artwork fee — case by case, usually around $15 to $20. We are not a full design studio, so for artwork created from scratch you are better off with a graphic designer, then bring us the finished file.
What's the difference between DTF and screen printing?
DTF has no screens to set up, so it is faster and cheaper for small runs, handles full-color and photographic artwork, and has no minimum. Screen printing sets up a screen per color, which is a cost you pay once and then spread across the run — so it gets more economical the larger the order and the simpler the design. We do DTF and embroidery here, not screen printing.
Merica says No screens, no setup, no minimum. That is the whole pitch.
Do you sell my data? Do you have a privacy policy?
No, we don't sell your data. Our full privacy policy is available at /privacy and lays out exactly who we share data with (Stripe, Supabase, Cloudflare, and similar service providers) and what they receive.
